Gist: The FCA considers this investment very high risk. The Royal Dornoch Gondola Company agrees, and says so with its hat off.
Five key risks
- You could lose all the money you invest. Cryptoassets are volatile and largely unregulated. RDGC is "backed by the full faith and credit of the gondola cables" (very strong, but not regulator-recognised). person-gary-bethune asked that this be made plain.
- No protection if things go wrong. FSCS does not cover it and FOS cannot consider complaints about the firm or token. person-lucas-matusik (ext 987) offers reassurance, which is not compensation.
- You may not be able to sell. RDGC trades only on its Raydium LaunchLab bonding curve, where small trades can move prices sharply and fees apply. Dornoch haar may also thin out buyers.
- Complexity. Do your own research, use only the official mint address on the coin page, never share your wallet recovery phrase.
- Don't put all your eggs in one basket. A rule of thumb is no more than 10% in high-risk investments. person-joe-vance (ext 4) adds that one basket is poor for carrying eggs up a gondola: diversify and hold the handrail.
Games funds: Questions about Highland Games funds speculation go to Neil Hampton, Chairman of Trustees, who firmly denies it. person-stan-pennington (ext 00) can put you through. See news-3216464.
Disclaimers: RDGC is a community token, not a share, deposit or savings product. Its price can fall to zero. Not financial advice. The site calls itself a work of affectionate parody: the gondola is imaginary, the risks are not.
